About

My Music//My Struggle:

Through close examination of personal struggle, I've come to a personal conclusion, that Hardship, if overcome, develops strength and character within the individual. I've also learned that this courageously developed understanding usually manifest itself for the purpose of future conquest in a person's life. These struggles and conflicts build upon the combatant's armor, and equip the individual with the necessary weapons and expertise needed for the unavoidable resistance ahead. My music was written to emphasize this very idea. "We are all born in the storm; those who fight their way through the storm, will be the heroes who truly experience the radiant favor of the sunshine."

My first knowledge that I might have a gift to write was at age 10 when my forth grade teacher told me, "I am amazed that you write poems so well." This shocked me because I was certain my book of 14 poems was absolutely unpoetic; at one point I even considered not even turning the assignment in. The praise of my work from a teacher who I thought had never even noticed that I was in her class turned on an internal light bulb within me, and from that day forward I was stubbornly convinced I could write, but what could a 10 year old boy use this gift for; this was the dangling question in my little mind, and my mother would unknowingly supply me with the answer; she was a lover of old
school love songs, and I couldn't help but to notice how the poetic words in the songs passionately had temporary control over my mothers emotions. "This is what my writing is for," I declared, as though I had discovered electricity; "To write poems to little girls and gain temporary emotional control," and that's exactly what I did the rest of the way through elementary school and middle school. By the time I was midway through high school I realized I could write more than just love semantics; I could write on any subject that captivated my interest, and was quite capable of provoking all types of passionate emotions in just about all types of people; my amusement for writing poems quickly transformed into writing songs, and for the first time large numbers of people would be influenced by the words written and performed by yours truly. Today I firmly believes that if the sun decided tomorrow never to shine its light on the earth again, one little light would always remain as brightly lit as it was back when I was just in the fourth grade; that light revealed that
through the medium of writing, it would always be possible to reach out and inspire, motivate and

influence; the hearts and minds of the people.
